Which bottom bracket?

Hi all,
Need to replace the bottom bracket on my rockrider 8.1.
I believe it to be a Hollowtech II external BB and the length of the frame hole where it fits appears to be 65mm.
However I'm really not sure what to buy.
Anyone help?
Thanks
Dan

Go XT or XTR, they are much better sealed than Deore.I don't do smileys.

I think this is the one on it now:

I wasn't sure if this one would fit because it says its for XT cranks and I have deore cranks:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=41445
but its twice the price of the deore one.
Superstar have these for £20:

Thanks I did look there but the description says 'bottom bracket cups' so I wasn't sure if it was the whole thing or not.
It goes up to £20 with the delivery also, and I need to buy the tool at the same time.0 -
This one.

Tools are cheap, just make sure you get one with the preload tool as well. Try Superstar.I don't do smileys.

Is the XTR definitely worth the extra? My deore one has lasted about 9 months (it still rides but there is play in it).0

Either I think so or I'm trying to boost their share price. You decide.
FWIW I use one. It's the only XTR stuff on my bike.I don't do smileys.

Do all of these include the bearings ? Or even can you not just put in a new bearing cartridge or do these take loose Ball Bearings?
Ionly ask because mine is a hope BB and I just changed the cartridge which was expensive enough....take your pickelf on your holibobs....

They have bearings or they'd be a bit useless as BBs. Shimano are not serviceable.I don't do smileys.

I don't bother with anything other than Hope bottom brackets. I find that Shimano die really quickly, under 6 months in some cases.
Pop the seals on a Hope and add some new grease every so often and they last for years and years. When the bearings do eventually die you can replace the bearings really easily.
The only downside is that Hope will be two or three times the cost of a Shimano one.
This is based on my experience and some people will disagree with this and I don't have a problem with that.0 -
The Deore die fairly quickly - a year or so in bad weather, but the XT and XTR have a different sealing system and last a few years of nasty condition riding.
Factor in the cost of new bearings for the Hope and they are more expensive.I don't do smileys.
