Am looking for a dropper post but would prefer lever under seat to avoid extra zip ties and handlebar clutter. Has anyone used either of these before and if so any opinions of them:

Or recommend an alternative.

    Don't do it!

I've always said a dropper post without a remote is completely pointless. You have to take your hand off the bars to reach down and pull the lever. Because you're shifting your weight by dropping/raising the post, this means you end up having to slow right down. You may as well stop and just release the lever on your QR clamp.

If you set them up right, they're not that noticeable anyway.

What they all said ^ I had a Crank Bros Joplin with the lever and did all of 4 rides before realizing they need a remote to be at their best, pretty pointless otherwise.

Same as above. If you really want the lever under the seat, save yourself a lot of cash and use the QR.

    Remote all the way!

If you think about the exact times that you are going to be using it, either right on the peak of a climb/transition in to downhill section or right at the bottom of a decent (i.e. going quickly) maybe transitioning in to a climb. Neither are good times to take your hands off the bars.
