I'm a roadie generally but getting into this off road lark as well. Got myself something light & throwable for the XC/ trail centre stuff I shall be doing, so far so good.
Frame: Whyte 905, 2010 vintage.
Forks: Reba RLT @ 120mm
Grips: Superstar Excels with poncy matching end caps
Shifters/ Brakes/ Drivetrain : XT triple
Wheels: Rim: Mavic 717/ 317 rims on Hope Pro 2 hubs
Tyres: Panaracer Fire XC Pro & Bontrager XDX (rear)
Pedals: Exotic Carbon, Nano-alikes
Going to have to change the rear tyre for something with a bit more grip when it gets muddier I think. Also, the big ring hasn't really been used yet, so I may swap that for a bash, other than that I think I'm set for a bit.

Looks nice, I like whyte bikes. I nearly bought one this year.
Personally I wouldn't worry about bash guard unless you're going to be doing really technical trail stuff like crossing big logs n rocks2015 Stanton Switchback
