Bit unexpected but this years Suisse has surpassed my favourite race (Dauphine)

Good solid racing - plenty of breaks and a deflated 2km to go !!

Shame it got such dire coverage in UK. I kind of gave up on it about stage 5.

I don't get why this matters; both were mediocre.
Dauphine had the better parcour, but was more controlled.
It's one thing to compare Giros and Tours, but now we have Paris-Nice v Tirreno Adriatcio and this.

You're really unhappy about the TV coverage aren't you?

I liked the race I sometimes prefer when there aren't any of the GT GC favorites there, normally leads to more open racing.

Dauphine was underwhelming taking the course in consideration. Suisse was phenomenal in the first stages and then the organisers lost it completely with shocking 3-4 flat stages that lead nothing for the riders to do. Didn't see yesterday's stage so can't tell if it ended better.

Yep. Yesterday's stage was pretty good and the other mountainous stage was really good too but literally I fell asleep watching a couple of the previous two stages. Still, overall I enjoyed it a lot more than the dolphin thingummy. At least the GC was an actual contest.

It was alright. First mountain stage was dire; the second was better.

It had a better GC battle, although that too was really a one day TT battle.

    Spot on.

I dont think the lack of coverage helped from my point of view. Lost interest as the week went on not helped by the flat stages you mentioned. I dont expect every race to have to deliver mtf's all over the place but with the terrain the Swiss have got I cant help feeling this was disappointing. Especially as its a Tour warm up and the Tour has a pretty hilly route this year.

Why dont we all agree that pretty much every bike race ever is crap and have done with it?!

the problem is we are spolit by massive coverage these days... the majority of cycle racing is not that "dramatic". which is why we get exercised when it is.

sometimes you have got to get down so you can get back up.

I think it's a relevant point and if the sport is to grow it needs addressed. All World Tour events should have proper coverage outwith the host country. It's daft that 24 of the 28 WT events are covered by one channel across Europe and the other 4 (Gent-Wevelgem, Tour de Suisse, Romandie, Tour Down Under) float in the wind.
