Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my front suspension fork on my bike which is a Specialzed Hardrock Sport Disc 2010. Does anyone have any recommendations in the £100-£150 area?

The current fork is:
SR Suntour SF10-XCT-V2D-MLO, 80mm, 1pc. alloy lower, 28mm Hi-Ten stanchions, , Disc only

I'm not too clued up on fork upgrades but I'm looking to do the work myself as I prefer the hands on approach!

Silly question, but what determines which forks will fit the bike or are they all universal fitment (except 26/ 29 inch wheels)?

This bike is used just for off-road use, I mainly ride Afan.

Thanks!
Jon.

You need to first determine the steerer size:-
    1 1/8th
    1 1/2
    Tapered.
    Being a Hardrock I would guess it's 1 1/8th.
You will need to remove the crown race off your old fork to fit on the new one. You'll probably need to cut the new steerer to size and you'll need to fit a new Star-nut.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of suggestions of Forks in your price range.

Rockshox Recon, Silver or Gold, Merlin often have good offers.

Thanks, ordered the Rockshox Recon Silver Coil, but I had the Air version sent to me, they're great!

You'll need a shock pump then unless they came with one.
