Beam style torque wrench for low torque ?
I was looking at this beam style torque wrench
http://www.drapertools.com/b2c/b2citmds ... 487&ipadd=
from 0 to 206 Nm
I was looking for a torque wrench in order to mount my new bike, I need up to 10 Nm.
Do I really need to purchase a micrometer beam style torque wrench or a non micrometer is good enough to tighten even the smallest torques ?
This draper one is 20 $, that's why I'd buy it, instead the park tool tw-1 (which is micrometer) costs me 73 $

a beam style wrench with a 210Nm range is going to be appallingly inaccurate if all you want is 10Nm
something like this would be far better...
http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Torque-Wren ... B009HENPR0
20-200 in/lbs is about 2-22Nm
or from uk...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-8-inch-2 ... B000RO1ZCGmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

it's a rachet torque wrench, it's going to loose calibration any time soon0 -

mine hasn't, i've got the sealey, i check it against a calibrated one at work, still ok after 2-3 years, and it can always be recalibratedmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

well I cannot check it against a calibrated one
and anyway even if yours didn't loose calibration, you might be one in a million0
