Defy Advanced Workstand
Hi,
Need a new workstand. Have been using a tacx cycle stand one on my mtbs for years but last week introduced a road bike to the stable. Very nice apart from the thin tyres continually puncturing - not sure what to do there yet!
Anyway, I need a workstand because being cf I cannot clamp the frame like I used to as bb area is much larger but on this bike it has a tear drop shape seat post which would seem to rule out that clamping option as well...or am I being daft?
Thoughts?

I clamp the frame on my carbon bikes. I have wrapped an old inner tube round the jaws so as not to mark the frame and provide extra 'grip' . Plus as they are light weight you don't have to tighten the jaws much.0

Clamps at the side so will take an aero seatpost. Awesome build quality.0 -
Depends on your budget but I'd go for the Park Tool workshop stand.

Puts the bike on a stable platform, at a height you can either stand or sit to work on and it swivels around to whatever position you want. You can clamp the front or rear wheel and there's no need to clamp any carbon top tubes or seat posts.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -
They are great for cleaning bikes.....pretty crap if you want to tune the front brakes or service the headset0

How so? If I want to work on the front, remove rear wheel and mount with the front hanging clear. Couldn't be simpler in my eyes.
