Right ive just brought a voodoo bantu and when i try to use the lockout on the forks the suspension goes stiffer but doesnt actually lock out is this normal? they are the suntour raidon x3 forks. I can actually get them to go as low as I can when there not locked out if I push down hard on them. Im guessing this isnt normal and shouldnt happen? any ideas on how to fix this or is it a trip back to halfrauds? any advice will be appreciated as im a newbie to mountain biking. thanks.

Who are 'halfrauds'?
Forks with hydraulic lock outs often have a bit of movement to aid traction, and will give their travel under hard efforts (blow off valve - this protects the fork).
If you feel it is not working as it should though, take them back. Sometimes the lever comes away from the ratchet underneath slightly.0 -
Have you got enough air pressure in the fork? although i don't know if this affects the lock out my bantu forks have a small amount of movement in them when locked out.0

the bike tech pumped the forks up for me, he just asked for my weight and checked on suntours website what the preasure should be a pumped them to that. the only difference between normal and locked out is that when there locked out theres more resistance to being pushed down but i can move them the same amount. any ideas?0

Take the fork back, or remove the cap for the lockout and see if it is turning the splined adjuster underneath fully.0

Ive looked at the cap and it is turning it fully when i lock it out it turns all the way untill it cant turn anymore. Do i need to pump the forks up, would air pressure effect this? or do they need replacing already lol.0

The cap turning does not mean the bit underneath has fully turned, if they are misaligned.
Air pressure has nothing to do with the lockout, though you should buy a shock pump to set the sag on the forks.
Did you get a manual?
If unsure, take them back and get the tech to look at them.0 -
ive took the cap off put it back on but in the open posistion to see if i could turn it any further to lock out and it wont turn any further so im guessing that means its fully locked out. its looking like im going to have to take it back0

Go to the above Suntour service video website and click on the top left video, it might help before you take the bike back.Specialized-The clitoris of bikes.0 -
When you buy anything which doesn't work surely the first thing to do would be to take it back to where you bought it from rather than complaining about it on the internet.
If you bought a tv and it wouldn't turn on would you return it or moan about it on forums?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
