Im getting a new frame which has a tapered headset but my forks are straight 1 1/8".
Is there a reducer I can fit or will I need a new headset?

Yeah hope do the reducer costs about £9 from chain reaction or you can get the reducer bottom cup from hope too0

Does it need to have a hope headset or will it fit an integrated Cane Creek headset?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I wouldn't have thought that it would have fitted the cane creek but I'd ask chainreaction or hope themselfs
If not the bottom section of the hope headset is about 30 quid0 -
Just bought one my self.
The hope adapter fits any headset as they are standard diameters, i found it tricky to find in stock. Got it from here in the end: http://www.wheelies.co.uk/p40159/Hope-T ... ?ss=5874700 -
An alternative to the Hope reducer is a dedicated convertor crown race.
When I bought my Giant Trance (designed for tapered forks), I was sold a special crown race that fitted on my 1-1/8" forks and straight onto the lower 1-1/2" headset bearing. It only cost £9.00. It was a Giant part, but it could be that Cane Creek make their headsets ?0 -

Fits on a 1/18th fork and creates a crown race seat of taper size, so use with any headset.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
