Giant Anthem 2 Headset Question

Hi,
I have a 2008 Giant Anthem 2 frame which (from fleabay) came with a Cane Creek ZS headset which I built up with a Fox F100RL fork. I have just stripped the bike after using it for a while and wondering whether I am missing a part from the headset. The lower bearing sits directly onto the race on the fork and wondered whether there should be some kind of race (as part of the headset) installed as well. Have searched the web for seems like hours and can't find an answer. Does anyone have experience of a similar setup?

forks dont have races. most dont even have centering rings. (commonly called races from when they were with open ball headsets).
so using your words the crown race may already be on the fork.
did you buy the fork used? did the seller leave the old crown race on it? did you fit your crown race that came with your headset and forgot?
