Worthwhile upgrade from Boardman Team Carbon

I currently have a 2010 Boardman Team Carbon with SRAM Rival and have upgraded a few parts like the wheels to DuraAce 9000 C24's and the saddle to a Fizik Arione.
Now while i like the bike as with most things one eye is always on what to buy next!
As i live near Ribble and Dolan I do tend to look at their bikes but cant help think if their offerings frame wise (R872 and Ares SL) arent much of an upgrade from the Boardman's or would you say i'm wide of the mark with this? Same goes for Planet X with their offerings.
Or would i have to go to a Canyon CF SLX or Cannondale Super Six for it to be worth my while?
Opinions welcome!

I don't think anything short of super duper custom tubed hand built will be worth your while tbh. After the Boardman it really is diminishing returns. Ride it til it breaks.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

If you really want to upgrade, your thinking is right in my opinion, Ribble's offerings are in the same league as your Boardman really (...but the Boardman is a good frame nonetheless)0

Probably need to spend £2.5k plus on a frameset to get enough gains.Yellow is the new Black.0

Naa, Id say £1500 on a frame would show the Boardman up myself. But the Boardman doesn't really need showing up as it's already good, maybe it could do with being a bit more sure footed at the front end mainly IMO.
Nothing is going to instantly go much faster than the Boardman from a frame swap, but stepping up a bit can bring a lot of smiles anyway.0 -
I had the same question; so went for something completely different, a Van Nicholas Mistral.
So I kept the Boardman and ride them both depending on how I feel and what I'm going to do. The VN is silky smooth and great for a big day; the Boardman is quicker and more lively..
Not sure you can beat the Boardman if you want another carbon bike without spending a lot!0 -
Thanks all.
Funny that as i have been looking at titanium bikes tonight! Expensive though and i like lively and quick so i've been sort of discounting them really.
I'll wait to see how much the 2014 Canyon CF SLX is with Red 22.....might well be a no go, the current one with Red is expensive but has expensive wheels so selling them (or my C24's) will make it quite a bit cheaper in reality.Cheers, Stu0
