Spacer for Sram on Fulcrum

Looking at the Fulcrum 5's on Wiggle, I am told a 1mm spacer is needed for my 9-speed Sram cassette.
I know nothing about spacers, what do I need to buy and how does it fit?

    the wheels will come with the spacer.
    GIANT PROPEL SL1 for racing and posing

    so why did they say i needed to buy one?

    wouldn't know all i know is that the set of racing 5's i bought in feb came with a spacer. the only other spacer you would need is if you were going 10 speed but your not so dont worry about it.

    just seen you question on wiggle he means you need to use the spacer not that they dont come with one.
