Hi Guys,

Built this up about a year ago. Got the frame and forks from Ebay and bought all the components to build up a bike I wanted and not something that had substandard parts in places to reduce costs.

Weight wise as pictured including pedals is 13.3kg, so overall not too heavy.

The spec is as follows:
Frame - Unknown( I believe it be a Kenesis frame but im not sure) Any help would be appreciated.
Forks - Rock Shox Recon Silver TK 100mm
Groupset - Full Deore XT(2013)
Brakes - Deore XT(2013)
Wheels - Deore XT hubs with Stans Flow rims
Tyres - Continental Rubber Queen 26 x 2.2
Pedals - Deore XT(2013)
Handlebar/Stem/Seatpost - Easton EA70
Saddle - Fizik Gobi XM.

Picture wise the stem looks a little odd but in the flesh its fine.

Any feedback or comments welcome, thanks for looking.

  • Looks like a real nice ride. Something pretty cool about having an unknown frame!

I like the subtle red touches.

    Thanks,
I tried to keep them subtle, I didn't want to overdo the red them too much.
Yeah it is kinda cool, but I would like to try and find out what frame it is, the build quality on the frame seems to be of a very high standard though.

    This.

How do you find the rubber queens? They look way bigger than 2.2

I find them very good, I've not ridden them in really bad weather on muddy ground but they have shinned through everything I have thrown at them. They are only the cheap ones not the black chilli ones so I'm very impressed by them to be honest.
Tell me about it, when I got them and inflated them I didn't think they would fit in the frame they are massive.

Well I'd just washed her. I would love to say she looked this all the time but this would be a lie. Lol.

Needs some go faster stripes :p

Looks sweet, guessing you are one of the bastards that stole the last of the white recon silvers reduced from 300 to 130 :p I HAD TO SETTLE FOR BLACK, DAMN YOU!

Yeah I know what you mean, the frame is a little plain but it means the components shine a little more.
I got the forks with the frame for a better price than £130.

Totally different frame. Different tube shapes, different rear dropout area, different cable routing (with guides in different places), different welds, seatstays meet seat tube in different places, just different everywhere.

The rear dropouts on disc braked Krakens haven't changed since the start, definately not a Kraken (or Vulcan or Fury which all use the same frame)
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
