x9 type 2 rear mech

I just ordered a new type 2 rear mech to try combat my chain dropping and chain slap,I now realise i dont know if it will work with the x5 shifters.its all 10sp and currently run x5 shifters,x7 mechs,will my x5's be ok or do i need to now buy a new shifter?

Ah cheers,panic over,seen it at 67quid minus 5'er discount,will it do the job im hoping it will,ie stop my chain dropping when i ride the rocky stuff?

Mine works with X5 shifter with no problem, and it completely eliminated dropped chain and slap.
