Hi all

Few months ago I got a new Bontranger saddle, after a bike fit tey rcomended something different. Initially all seemed fine.

Few weeks ago I noticed I was getting a few hot spots down there, so put it down to my bibs geting a bit tired - had them over 12 months (dhb aeron) so i bought some Pearl Izumi Attack.

Had these for a few weeks and ave done a couple of hundred miles, seem ok, but feel like the lycra moves under the pad a little if you know what i mean.

Anyway, last night I did a 3 hour ride, got absolutely soaked through, when i got back i had a really bad chaffing where the corner of the pad seem had been rubbing..

do you think this was because I was soaked through?
shorts just not agreeing, bad fit? (should i have bought the assos ones i initially wanted but pussied out:-))

is it the saddle that could be to blame?

ironically i was in evans an hour before my ride and almost bought some chamois cream...wish i had now, but would it have helped?

Help appreciated, backside is feeling like im a cycling newbie today :-)

ouch! try chamois cream for some comfort ... I do have one particular pair of bibs which, unless I use chamois cream, will chafe. I have others which don't need any cream, and they have a different shaped pad.

If your saddle has been alright up to now, I doubt if that is the problem imo.

I have some Shutt bibs that are unwearable when wet for the same reason. Tighter fitting Castelli free aero bibs = no problem though.

Slap some TCP liberally on to the affected area. It's antiseptic, and you'll smell great.
    Is the gorilla tired yet?
