I am mulling over buying the Boardman Hybrid Team for my work commute and weekend riding.
The Tyres it comes with are Vittoria Zaffiro 700x28c.
My work commute is nine miles each way on trail/cycle path and road, some of the trail is like a gravel bridleway.
My weekends are mainly road and some trail/cycle path.
Would these tyres be fine for my needs.
My main concern is not getting punctures but also I want to be able to greatly increase my travel time from my current MTB which I am using at the minute.
Any advice appreciated guys...

If you are worried about punctures get Schwalbe Marathon Plus, bullet proof.

I was recommended the schwalbe' by a friend, would they still provide some decent speed on the roads?

If you want a good compromise get Gatorskin Hardshell. I have just gone through 4000 trouble free miles with a set which are still rolling. But, if you want to forget about punctures, get Marathons. What you are asking for is a bit like asking for cheap gold. You can get cheap or you can get gold but not both.

The Zaffiros are great for avoiding punctures - 5000 miles on mine now. However, I think they are still a bit narrow for riding on gravel, they will dig in and either not track straight or be difficult to turn. I would get something wider if using gravel regularly.
