    Guilty.

I was going to buy a second hand Porsche. Had the dream and the money.
Bought a sensible (ish) car instead, blew 6k on the Colnago, camera gear, HiFi and kept the rest for holidays.
Don't regret it for a minute.

That's said as an bald overweight married middle aged man. If I was young free and single with the cash, I'd have the Porsche.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Interesting that a ridiculously expensive bike is considered to be one that costs over £500.

EDIT: ...and that the archetype of a middle aged man is considered to be 41

If you expect to live to the age of 82 then 41 is middle aged.

Well, average life expectancy in the UK is 75. As women live longer than men, male life expectancy is probably nearer 70. Middle age therefore 35 and must start at about 28 :wink::D

I'm not old enough for a mid-life crisis, but I can vouch for cycling purchases having approximately the same effect as Fluoxetine.
