Did you get the Bont's ??? any good ???0

I bought some of these at the weekend from my LBS (Cycelsense Tadcaster).
Coming from a pair of mid-range shimano shoes these are far superior. I chucked them in the oven when i got back then followed the moulding instructions and they fit like a glove.
They are stiff as you like and light compaired to my previous Shimano shoes.
Thumbs up from me !0 -
Cheaper on http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/apparel/shoes/shoes-road/bont-riot-road-shoes-white.html if they have your size.
A few comments:
Slightly wider than my Sidi's - which suits my feet.
Very comfortable for me.
Finish not overly great - not sure how long they will last but you'll enjoy them why you've got them.
As already noted, they are STIFF.
Use the online feet measuring process - add a a few mm's onto your measurements and they should fit nicely.
Note to potential bakers: Don't leave the insole in when putting them in the oven!!!
For a custom fitting shoe at £90 you can't really go wrong.0 -
Oooo, really like my A3s and these don't look like clogs, best avoid going into Sigma.0

I purchased a pair of these last night but I seem to have a little issue with them.
When I tried them on in the shop they didn't feel too bad, a pretty good fit to be honest... but when I got them home and popped in my Blue Spesh Footbeds the arch really seemed to dig in to my foot (didn't notice it so much in the shop as I was sat down when I tried them on and didn't put too much pressure on the arch area).
After a little reading this seems normal for a number of people depending on their arches... so in the oven the Bont Riots went.
So after 20 mins or so I'm stood in the Bonts, footbeds in and strapped up to see if anything will happen on the comfort of the arch or whatnot... but as I'm stood there for a couple of minutes I find that my little toe is overlapping the lip where I guess the carbon sole starts.
I'm thinking that I could possibly use some of that Sugru stuff or perhaps push that section out if mouldable
Has anyone experienced this issue and found a comfortable solution?

Try heating them up again and mounding the section out with the blunt end of a screw driver ?
I have been told by a few people that it may take a few time going through the heat process to get them to really mould to your feet.
Mine fit like gloves after just one session, but everyones feet are different.0 -

Did you manage to sort the issue ?0 -
Sort of...
Putting them back in the oven didn't really help so I used a hair-dryer and managed to move the sides out a couple of mil.
The Specialized BG Footbeds were too thick so I purchased North Waves equivalent.
My toes were still overlapping and causing pain so I popped Sugru over the ridge/lip along each side of the foot.
I'm back to the Specialized Shoes at the moment but I have the latter part of the week off, so I should be able to give them a test ride to see how I get on with the Sugru.
Not really the best shoe to go for if you have wide feet or toes that spread.... or both. The path of my life is strewn with cowpats from the devil's own satanic herd.0 -

Oh there is far worse out there - everything ever made by Sidi for example! But unless you really need the heat moulding, there are other options out there at the moment at huge discounts - notably the Fizik range which are beautifully made. The R3s can be had for about £90 from PX and possibly (extra discounts depending) the same from Ribble. Less than half retail.Faster than a tent.......0 -

I bought myslef a pair of Giro Trans instead of the Bonts, and they're gorgeous. The best thing about them is that they're down from £149 to £99 at Evans.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

I took a look at some Bont Riots on the weekend in a shop. I have no doubt that they perform well, but the build quality of them looked really cheap and the quality of finish wasn't great. Expecially when compared to the silly cheap Fizik R3s (which I bought a fortnight ago).0

just received a size 46 as reccomended via the bont size calculator -measured and one size up from normal (im normally 45 in sidi or shimano)
they are way too big, long wide and slip in the heel, ratchet and velcro are at their limit.
from a bit more research it looks like the vaypor etc are small and more suited to the bont calculator and the riot are more of a regular size.
im sending the 46 back and will order the 45 as i like the look and feel of them - i will let you know how i get oni need more bikes0 -
Success... No Pain from the lip digging in to the side of my feet after the club run today.
That being said it would appear that the sole on one of the shoes has started to fracture, this would be from the extreme shape I've had to make from heat moulding.
If anyone has rather wide feet then I would suggest looking at another model or brand but the toe box might be fine for some who have normal to wide-ish feet... rather than hobbits feet. The path of my life is strewn with cowpats from the devil's own satanic herd.0
