Hello,

need some advice.

I'm racing xterra in Spetember and it's a new experience for me - racing xcountry.

I'm looking for some good race wheels and need some guidance.

Currently i'm training on

Mavic X719 with Chris King Hubs and standard spokes - with Race King 2.2s.

Iv'e 2 options

Change spokes on current set up or change rims and spokes and keep the hubs.

Which rims are best for this type of racing? Any advice out there?

Also any adice on spokes and tyres would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

The Xterra England course would be fine on a cross bike frankly.

If you want a race set of wheels I'd ditch the King hubs, they're not light. Don't waste time changing the spokes either, pretty small differences.

Something like DT240s on ZTR Podium rims with Revolution spokes will be a great set of race wheels, about 1250g. If its dry then Furious Freds will be perfect, last year when it was a bit boggy I used Rocket Rons.

That's great - thanks for your reply.

Quickly - what travel of forks would you use? 100mm?
