Hardtail short list

So having spent way too long looking at bikes (no bad thing of course but does get in the way of work!) I have narrowed my choices down to the following: Whyte 729, Canyon AL 8.9 or Specialized Carve Pro I have purely based this on spec and of course what they look like so could be convinced otherwise. Quite a dirfference in price from the Canyon to the Carve but wondering if the difference is with it or even noticeable?
