As in the title, is there such a thing? Thing is, we have a BMW X3 (2004) and the BMW 3-Series (2006), the X3 having the roof rails and the other having fixed mounts. Is it possible to buy, say Thule bars for both cars and having the fixing kit/adapters for both cars and just buying two Thule bike carriers?
Has anyone / does anyone swap the bike carriers between two cars using a combination of the same items?
I don't want to be spending on something that can be used on both cars, if you see what I mean.

The bike carriers fix to the rails, you could use the same rails and swap footpacks.
Unfortunately the rails are the cheapest part of the equation.0
