Seating new tyres
Hi, I have just bought some new tyres, Bontrager hardcase 700x25c, to replace my old crap kendra 700x23c. I am having trouble installing them though. I can get the tyres on the the rims but can not seat them, there is always high points. When I seat the tyre correctly at one point it causes the tyre to unseat a bit further along. Does anyone have any tips for getting them seated?

could try pumping them up a little higher like they do on car tyres till they pop and seat properly (don't go mad though)
sometimes i have a tyre that won't seat even then and i use a pair of adjustable pliers to tease the tyre side to side when it's pumped up that normally does the job (careful though!)
think park tool and maybe others sell a tyre seating tool that is better than the adjustable pliers0 -
Fit the tyres with washing up liquid round the rim, then blow up the tyres to rim max. or the tyre max. which ever is the lowest,
Then drop the psi to your preferred pressure

I've had this problem on a set of fulcrum 7s, any other wheel ...fine, but what ever tyre I put on those 7s it's a nightmare to get seated, I'm just glad that they're my wet wheels so they don't do so many miles.0
