Hydraulic oil SAE values. Are they the same?

Just about to service Rockshox Revelations. Need 15 SAE hydraulic oil. Got a bottle (Rock Oil) of suspension oil off a mate who uses it on motorbike.
LBS says I must use Rockshox oil. I understood the whole point of having a standard was that it was a standard!
