Just watched a bike theft

A colleague had his bike nicked from the covered area here a couple of weeks ago. IT have got round to retrieving the CCTV and there he is - bold as brass walks up the back of the building, has a quick look then gets down to sorting the lock out. There's no detail of who is he or how he does it, but his 30-40 seconds of activity in a gloomy corner is enough for him to release it and be off the up road on someone else's bike.

That's the first time I've seen that sort of thing happen; less than a minute to open the lock has surprised me. Be wary, and heed the advice about not using cheap locks.

Dunno, other than a chain lock as opposed to a D lock.
