Bib shorts

Apologies if this has been asked a million times before. 3 questions really.
1 does the padding come in different types for short.....medium...longer distance etc.
2 what attributes should I look for
3 what would you recommend up to £100
Thanks for your time and advice.

Assos, Castelli and DHB bib shorts seem to get recommended on here a lot. There are different types of pad and different manufacturers do different pads. Can't say I know what they're all for but Assos for example have an S5 and an S2 pad - seem to recall that the former might be thicker for longer distances and the latter more for shorter distances or racier efforts. I got a pair of Assos with the S2 pad for less than £100 and find them very comfortable on short and long rides (admittedly never done more than 60 miles though).

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
Best pair of shorts I've got (also have some from Sportful and Altura)
I managed to bag a couple of pairs of these for £32 each, and very nice they are too.
My money for sub £100 would be on Mavic, Santini or Craft.
If you shop wisely in the sales you can easily bag a £100 for more like £60.
My crafts were a bargain, my santinis were 40 and 60, and the mavics 90 down to 60.
Evans have a 20% off code at the mo for example.
