Am I right in thinking Standard 700 23 clincher tyres/tubes will fit on these rims? :?

Who does 25mm wide rims? There are a lot of 23mm rims around these days and you can safely run 23 mm clinchers on those.

Our friends in the far east are producing these...now I don't want to get into a debate about Chinese carbon rims, I would just like to know if the the Scwalbe ultremo 700 23 clincher tyres/tubes in my garage will slip straight on them ;-)

That would depend on the internal diameter, which would depend on the construction. Most 25mm rims would be designed for touring so 28's+ I'd've thought.

IME carbon clincher rims are quite narrow inside, so they should fit 23 mm tyres no problem...

A 23mm tyre will be fine on the likes of a Velocity A23 / Hed Ardennes - you get a slightly broader, flatter tyre profile.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Damnit, that means I have to replace my 23mm CX rims. Grrrrr.

    Slight thread resurrection here.

I notice Superstar are now doing some 25mm wide road rims with an inner width of 19mm. Ignoring any prejudice about the company, are there any downsides to even wider rims than the now increasingly common 23/17mm rims?

No... I use 20 inner and they are awesome... but I also pair them with 25 mm tyres. However, wide and tubeless go hand in hand... you might struggle to fit a tyre with inner tube on a very wide rim. Are these also tubeless or just wide?
