Hello.

Watching this years Giro and having finally packed all my 'vices' in (and putting on a unwanted stone) has compelled me to finally get a road bike. After a lot of eBay-browsing I thought I'd settled on getting an old vintage bike. A good friend of mine then suggested that I let him build me a bike (he had a lot of 'bits' from his older bikes going spare).
He then found a beautiful sky blue Viner ex-race frame and the rest is history. All in I spent just over £300 (including helmet and shoes). I really cannot thank my friend enough, he really pulled some magic out the bag.
I've only had it a week and I'm really out of shape but I've been doing some 15 mile runs in the Yorkshire hills and she rides like a dream. I was so chuffed I made this bit of unadulterated bike porn.

You should post some photos, the video doesn't do much but zoom about the photos whilst you wait to see the whole shot (but with some crap pseudo-emotional music), that's my opinion anyway.

Nice bike though from what I can see.

Well I quite enjoyed the video. Nothing wrong with it IMO. It just proves that you don't need the latest greatest bit of kit to get plenty of enjoyment from a bike.

    Good on you.

nice bike - only comment is that you should move the bottle cage to the down tube as looks impossible to get your bottle out where it is.

I'm going to get another bottle for the downtube. I find on the longer rides I'm finishing a bottle after 20 miles. I'm also torn between getting a saddlebag to carry a little bit of cake and ruining the beautiful lines of my bike.
Also, am I the only one to pat my bike after a particularly gruelling climb as if it were a horse?
