Tubeless Tyres (I know I know)

Ok so I haven't made the switch, mainly because I never get flats, however I'm more interested if there is a difference in the tyres rebound characteristics when running lower pressures, I've dropped the pressure a few times to mimic tubeless and to smooth out the ride but a snakebite is the result so I usually run 38psi which suits me as I'm only 70kg's wringing wet. After yesterdays XC race however where my rear wheel pinged off every rock and root on the trail and those damn 29er FS machines rolled through smoother than a waxed brazilian I'm of the opinion that my ride could be improved.
I'm not talking about the odd root or stone in the trail either, those can be jumped over, these trails consist only of rocks and roots, a 15km loop of rocks and roots
So do tubeless tyres give a greatly improved ride or should I look at an FS bike.
Thanks

Not really. They give improved grip, less rolling resistance, puncture protection, but the comfort gains are negligible. 38psi sounds like a lot though, whether tubes or not.0

Didn't notice anything comfort wise, grip is better but I did find I had to find the sweet spot pressure wise, too low and I felt there was too much lateral movement, too high and they bounced off roots and rocks, 38psi does seem high given your weight, I less than you and run approx 31 rear 30 front and even that is high for some.0

Thanks guys, 38psi does sound high I agree, could be my track pump reading a bit off, its about 10 years old but still pumps fine. But I might look around for a frame to build up again.........all

Only thing ive noticed going tubeless is the tyres make funny noises when you ping off things0

Then fall off when you go round a corner.0

I use a small hand held gauge I wouldn't trust a track pump gauge.0
