Front Wheel - Lateral Movement

Anyone ever had this before? There's just a little bit of play in the wheel. The hub stays firm between the forks but the wheel just wobbles a slight amount left and right. It's a set of Campagnolo Zondas (about three years old) and to be fair they've taken quite a battering.

Any thoughts on whether this is easily fixed? New hub? Service the old one?

    so where is the movement.

    you contradict yourself.

is the hub firm or is it moving?

as the fix is different. service the hub or retension the wheel.

Campagnolo wheels have a nut to remove play in the bearings... you normally have to undo the caps and access the nut via the tiny allen key bolt fitted onto it

Yeah, I'm probably not explaining this very well... The central part of the hub is firm, the shell around this (the cyclindrical part that actually spins - the bit to which the spokes are attached) wobbles slightly.

Cheers, I'll have a shufti later.

Yup, sounds like your hub cones need adjusting. With Campagnolo hubs, it only needs an Allen key to loosen a pinch bolt on a adjusting collar to take up the play.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
