Im looking at getting insurance for my bikes incase the worse was to happen. But the thing is i have no idea where to start working out the value of my 3 bikes. I currently have a 2010 Trek Ticket 20, 2012 Saracen Mantra Pro and a custom built Cotic Soul. Due to the fact the Trek is getting old now and the Cotic is a custom build i have no idea how id value these to get insurance to cover them. Whats the best way to work out their value? or would i be best off going to the local LBS to get them valued there??

Itemise their specs on a spreadsheet and product code ect then take in to a shop. Gotta be the cheapest way to cut on their leg work. Try a few too.

Just use RRP for the bike and components?

Depends on the insurance company. Some do new for old, some do market value. Also depends on where the insurance Co. deal with. A lot use Wheelies. But as previously advised, you'd have to check the value of the frame and components, you must have some idea what you have spent?
