Hey BikeRadar, been lurking in this section a fair bit recently, looking at some amazing bikes, thought I best share mine.

I used to own a stock '12 SuperSix 105, loved it, but this came up at a really good price after a year of owning the Liquigas coloured 105 - it was very minimal in price to sell my old SS and purchase this.

It's a 2012 Ultegra SuperSix,
so far I've saved a little weight by purchasing some
Planet X skewers and seatclamp,
Dura Ace C24 wheels with GP4000S tires,
replacing my Shimano A530 pedals for some LOOK Keo Carbon Blades.
Weighs approx 7.3kg dressed with the Pedals, Garmin 500 & Sensor and Bottlecage.

Will be looking to get a carbon post in the not so distant future, and if funds allow some lighter bars, stem and saddle to get close to the 7KG dressed weight. (If my urge to buy a trail MTB ceases!)

Really enjoying riding it thus far, intend to do a 60+ mile sportive at the end of the month, so I've been training every other day on her. Love it! 8)

Nice ride- are you going to trim the steerer ?
notice any difference with the stock gossamer and the SLK crank ?

You should get the sl-k stem and seatpin ... the stock 'dale stuff is light but doesn't do the bike justice ...

The SLK arms have a little flex to them, but overall not a great difference to the old SS' Gossamer, suppose its the dropped weight you pay for.

I do intend to cut down the steerer tube, yes. I just want to be certain before I do it, maybe another week or so.
Never cut carbon before, nor have I lowered a spider, presumably I need a longer bolt to knock my spider further down the forks?

I wouldn't mind getting SLK post, bars and stem. However they don't seem to be the lightest of parts when comparing them to other affordable models, you're right though, it would probably look best if all components matched!

Mr Pig, there's no spider, there's an expander plug which is really easy to adjust. In fact it's a good idea to move the plug further down the steerer when you remove the spacers, this way the stem clamps around where it is as to avoid cracking the carbon.

Cannondale also say not to put spacers above the stem on the S6 for safety reasons but thats a whole different kettle of spanners.

    Cool dale :P

How do I go about adjusting the plug then metronome? I'll get on that tomorrow if I get an answer. :)

    Mr Pig,

See the diagram on page 91 of this PDF:

    http://media.cannondale.com/media/Manua ... 124451.pdf

This following manual should explain it in detail but the FSA site seems to be down at the minute...

    http://www.fullspeedahead.com/storage/i ... 019_v2.pdf

The plug is comprised of two parts. The bottom screws in to the steerer, the top screws in to the bottom to adjust the load.

Completely loosen stem bolts. Remove the top cap (bigger Alan). Now loosen the bolt (smaller Alan) on the lower part of the plug (still fixed in steerer) so that it contracts. Move it to where the stem will be fixed. Tighten the bolt so that it expands again and is secured in place. Screw top cap back in to inner plug to adjust the load. Tighten Stem Bolts

No, 3T matches better than SLK IMHO. Would look better on the SS as well; I had one 3 years ago and it was the shizzle.
