With Park you are playing safe, all their tools are as good as it gets
Hmmm, Park are not really the Snap On of bike tools; you certainly can get much better than Park. I've found them to be a bit variable - infact, one of the cassette tools I've got from Park was pathetically bad. Made of cheese and badly designed. Failed to get a not massively tight cassette off. It was worse than the tool that it replaced (which was half the price and better designed). Also, the quick link remover would be better if the rubbery handle coatings didn't move about. The Campag bearing puller is functional but again, hardly an object of obvious quality.
That said, the Park stand I have is OK but I do think the quality of Park stuff is a bit over-rated.
Topeak Joe Blow Sport is a well liked alternative track pump.
I have many park tools and they all do their job well... if you find a brand with an equally wide range of tools of better quality that don't cost the earth, I am happy to change my mind.
My Truing stand costs half the money of a DT Swiss one and it is better...

Ahh well, that's the question isn't it! And I have no answer to it!
But really, that cassette tool stank - not a case of not being top quality but of actually being poor quality. Soft metal, no pin, and the hole in it was round so no use to the big fat torque wrench..... If the design brief was to design a censored cassette tool then Park really do have high standards I'll probably still buy Park tools but with much lower expectations than I once had. IceToolz make a better cassette tool even if their spelling is horrible!
I did hear Tacx are rather good but no personal experience of their tools.
Our Park Tool track pump is nowhere near as good as the Cannondale one it was supposed to replace ... So much so I still use the 'dale one even if it does leak at low pressure (plus it has caad8 tubing for the barrel so looks quite cool) ...
To be honest it wouldn't matter what pump or tool brand you were asking about. Someone will always come up with a horror story.
Park tools are everywhere. In bike shops, home shops, anywhere bikes are worked on.
They also seem to have the most complete line of tools out there.
Are they the best? You can buy fancier and more expensive tools but I doubt that any of them will do the job BETTER than Park.
As for pumps, if you need one for home use pretty much any of them but the cheapest will fill the bill.
