Canyon Availability

Just been on the Canyon site, and find the Availability details difficult to understand.
For example, a particular model I was looking at states availability as "CW29 (15.7 - 20.7)".
Anyone know what this means? I presume its Current Week 29, but unsure about the figures in brackets. Surely not 15-20 week wait ?
Cheers.

Calendar Week
CW29 = Calendar Week 29 which is the 15th to the 20th July hence 15.7-20.7 http://calendar-week.net/all-calendar-week-numbers-2013.php0 -

Lol. Great bikes, shame about the service. That alone would prevent me buying one. Why pay for a bike now then wait 3 months for delivery (or more in the case of the CF SLX 2013). Don't get it personally?0 -
Except that you don't pay now, only when its ready to ship.0

Some of the Canyons you can get very quickly, some you need to wait. Its bound to be the case when demand is high, there's not much to touch the specs they provide for the money, makes makes like Cube seem relatively poor value in comparison, and they're one of the better value ones of the ones they compete with. (they could of course bung the prices up to put some people off).0

Points taken. The CF models that everyone wants are 20+ weeks though which is too long imo. No doubt they are great bikes, I would just question their logistics and how they will cope with high demand and any aftersale isuues. Bikes can be returned etc but when the company is based in Germany its much harder than popping down to your local bike shop. My local shop has seen a few Canyons recently.0

Yeah, but your local bike shop will see all sorts of makes, the more common they are, the more they see of them... loads of people can't even adjust gears themselves and think bike maintenance is beyond them or it's some kind of witchcraft.
Aftersales issues they're no different to any other manufacturer.
If people know naff all about bike maintenance, maybe they are better off buying from an LBS, but to be fair, once it's had a 'first service' they will be charging you for everything they do anyway most likely, and their bike will be lower spec for the money than the Canyon most of the time.
People should learn to fix things and look after things, if you look at your average muppet in a bike shop, is it really beyond the average human being? Nope.0 -
I've just been on the Canyon site - the delivery time for a Ultimate CF SL 9.0 in compact is late May but the same bike in triple or big ring is February.... this seems absurd!
Surely you are ordering the frame and they put the crank on last! unless they are expecting a global shortage of Shimano Compact cranks after February.0 -

I've recently received a new Scott Foil that I had to wait 2 long days for. Should last me a few years but I kind of have my eye on a Canyon for my next bike, so may order now in time for summer delivery in 20160 -

From this year's experience, 20 weeks would soon go out to 30 weeks.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S

I was advised a 3 week wait when I placed my order, it arrived a couple of days short of the fortnight.
On the point why would anyone order a bike they won't get for weeks. My reason was that Canyon make excellent bikes, you get a spec that very few other manufacturers can match at the same price point. I will have this bike for a good few years and then it will likely become my winter bike so I anticipate having it for 5 + years minimum. I'd rather wait a few weeks and get the bike I want rather than picking up a lower spec bike purely because it is available, sometimes you have to wait for the nicer things in life2013 Canyon Ultimate AL 7.0
