Hello all,
I have a trek 2.1 and was wondering how noticable it would be if I changed the stock bontragner wheels?
I'm pretty clueless with what I should upgrade on the bike.
I'd be lookong at spending around £100 on a set off the forum perhaps.
Thanks
Luke

eeek... From what I'm learning, £100 probably won't get you an upgraded wheel set (even second hand).
You might benefit from good quality tyres such as Corsa Evo-CX and lighter inner tubes though. Guess it depends on what you have already?

For that money unless you get a super bargain you won't improve on many OEM wheels (square steel rims with hose pipes maybe ) but tyres on stock bikes are almost always easily upgraded - my personal tyre upgrade favs are Vittoria Open Paves or Conti GP 4000s - if your wheels are rough though probably better to save till you have £200-300 and get a nice set of handbuilts.0

Nice one cheers guys.
Glad a £100 pair of second hand ones won't do much...I'm not tempted to get a new set for a while now!
I have some decent tyres on them so I'll leave it for now.
Cheers

Good plan run them (tyres and wheels) till their worn out then treat yourself to some Open Pave's and handbuilts0
