Scott CR1 SL

Let me be the first of many to post my freshly built up 2012 Scott CR1 SL following the super deal on the frameset...
Having spend about a year and 15000kms on my BMC Streetracer SR01, and done a few tweaks that kept me somewhat satisfied, I had reached a point where I wanted a greater saddle to handlebar drop, and with my stem already slammed my only option was to get a smaller frame. I initially planned to buy a 2012 Ridley Orion from CRC which seemed like good value at ~€600, but that was until I spotted the 2012 Scott CR1 SL deal and naturally snapped one up!
So yesterday afternoon, my frameset arrived...

Straight away I dropped it to my LBS to get the headset fitted and steerer cut, the only procedure I can't really carry out myself. In the meantime I stripped every part off my BMC and gave it a thorough clean with degreaser, and old toothbrush and water and packed them away ready to fit to the frame when I got it back.
Got the call this afternoon to say the frame was ready, so I wasted no time getting it home and building it up with the parts from my cannibalised BMC...
First impressions, this frame is responsive, veeerrryyy responsive, it just goes! Love it! First race tomorrow evening and first proper long spin on Saturday, can't wait!

You do know you can get stems with different degrees of drop? For example this one from 3T with -17 degrees:
Anyway, good excuse for a new bike though! Looks great - would be even better with those nice deep sections!
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0 -
Shush! I wanted a reason to upgrade to carbon anyway0

Sorry :P I want to upgrade my frame to be able to get a slammed stem as well but mine's the other way around - headtube is too low therefore I need a higher one haha!

Nice. Can't wait for my SL frame to turn up! I stupidly assumed that the headset and forks would be pre-fitted so sounds like I need to line up my LBS to do this (Westbrook have already kindly changed the BB for me). Just got a email to say its been dispatched, but when I called them they said it would be Monday before I saw it
Yours is looking good!Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0 -
Yup - nice one.
My frameset arrived other day - originally was just going to do a swap over in the winter, but looking at something a bit sooner.
What we should do is a 'weight before' 'weight after' as well0 -
Haha expect the weight of mine to change drastically as funds replenish after the initial purchase.
It's currently weighing in at 7.8kgs, with mavic aksiums, 105 shifters and mechs and a 400g Easton seatpost.
I had it out for its first race this afternoon, some donkey rode straight into my rear mech and now my dropout looks like a banana The search begins for a suitable replacement before the weekend!0 -
Nice. Got a CR1 Team and I love it0

Aye, it's roughly 7kgs with the handbuilt tubular wheels.
I had a mishap with the FSA K-force handlebars, and have now changed them to 3T Ergosum Pro bars.
Must get some new pics....0
