Brake pads swapped now won't fit

Hi
I've just swapped the brake pads over to swissstop greens, front wheel is fine, brake quick release lever back in place, pads engage, rim does not foul.
Rear pads slotted in ok, but with the brake quick release in closed position they are clamped onto the rim and the wheel won't turn a mm! What could I have done wrong??

Release tension on cable? Has the cable moved in one of the lugs on frame? Whatever it is the fix will be simple!0

as your pads wear you normally tighten the brake using the barrel adjuster on the brake to bring the pads closer to the rim.
when you replace the pads you need to slacken this barrel adjuster again.
if they are still to close, undo the cable to free it up more0 -

^ this. Make sure all the outer cable ends are firmly seated in their stops, then if you do need to release a little bit more cable from the clamp, grip it with pliers the requisite distance below the clamp bolt so that when you undo it the thing doesn't spring right open.0 -
Thanks for the above. I tried again this morning and indeed the barrel adjuster was the issue, with the limited time I had I did have time to loosen the cable. However I did feel although functional the brake lever has a bit too much pull on it now,a bit slack. I'll have a proper look again tonight.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/
