Willesden Cycling Club's Tony Willard, a veteran of many an Audax, is organising a 50 and 100 mile ride to support Breast Cancer Care. Tony's daughter Samantha was diagnosed with the disease in January this year, since then she has undergone surgery and is currently in chemo treatment.

The rides are on Saturday 22nd June 2012 and will start/finish in Oakley (just to the SW of Basingstoke). This is wonderful cycling country and Tony has cleverly designed the routes to give a choice of either of two 50 miles rides or you can do both routes in a 100 mile ride and there is nothing to stop you doing routes as many times as you want (that would be impressive!).

The first 50 mile route encircles Basingstoke with a total ascent of 300m. Seehttp://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/188072492 for details

The second route heads to the South West of Basingstoke towards Winchester. This is a slightly more challenging ride with 400m of climbing. See http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/188205832 for all the information.

The ride starts off from 0830-0900 - latecomers can collect a routesheet from the cafe at the start - from Oakley School, Oakley Lane, Oakley Hants, RG23 7JZ (off the B 3400 between Basingstoke and Overton, OS map ref on sheet185 Grid 573 503). There is ample parking nearby. There is a coffee shop selling snacks etc opposite the start / finish. It will be open from 0900 -1600. Also there are cafes en-route.

Donations for riding can be made to directly via http://www.justgiving.com/Tony-WillardSams100miler
