I'm fed up with my old elixir 5 brakes. Would new deores be an improvement?

Depends why you are fed up with them. Do they sit around on the couch all night , hair in curlers, eating crisps and drinking cheap wine?

I would. My elixirs have never not been a pain in the arse, even if the deores were less powerful i could live with that if it meant no fucking around with bleeding them every 3 months.

I had Elixir 5's on an On One Inbred, I prefer the Deore's on Genesis High Latitude.
    Planet X Kaffenback 2
    Giant Trance X2
    Genesis High Latitude 2x10
    Planet X n2a
    Genesis Core 20

Have got Elixir 5s on the Voltage and M596s on the Ramones they both work very well in an unremarkable kind of way.

If your Elixirs work as expected the Deores won't be any different. Pull the lever - slow down - let go of the lever - carry on etc etc
