Last night, whilst fiddling with my lovely new wheels, I read some of the bed sheet size - multi-lingual - instruction notes.
The blurb say if you're over 109kg, keep off. No problem for me, I thought
However, if you're over 82kg, go steady and check 'em on a regular basis.
I'm 83kg. I thought I was quite slim (at 1.85m tall).
Turns out I weigh too much for my wheels.

I should get out more (on the bike)

Make peace with it; 36 spoke wheels exist for a reason.0

What wheels are they? (so we can verify whether they are lovely or not )0 -
Go as fast as you can and then you will spread the stress over the wheels' circumference. You must jump on the bike running and get off whilst its moving. Let me know how you get on/... er...off !?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Lovely wheels = Fulcrum Racing 5s.
All perfectly clean and shiny. Hmmmm, nice.I should get out more (on the bike)0 -
But how much does the bike weigh? If it's a light bike can you discount that weight against your gut?0

Oh lummy, I'm 90kg, 5'8" and unashamedly lardy, and I ride on Fulcrum R7s (which I assume aren't as strong?). And I never read the blurb...
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -
I was 114kg(thanks cycling for the 20kg weight loss!) and only had to true my rs30s once and they are rated to 95kg! Put several thousand miles on them during all weather on typical British roads.
Keep the wheels, enjoy them, don't worry and if problems do keep happening treat yourself to some nice 32spoked handbuilts if you feel the need.
Tbh though, you are NOT a heavyweight by no means and you won't have problems caused by your weight.0
