Hi all,
A couple of months ago, I bought myself a Giant Defy Composite 2.
I love the geometry but I not really getting on with the SRAM apex. I had a go on a mate's advanced and it seemed a fair amount better, though I don't know how much is just upgradeitis. Would it be be worth the cash to upgrade (to the advanced 1) or should I just change shifters and mechs ?
Many thanks

What don't you like about SRAM? Since buying my Defy Comp 2 and a Charge Filter Apex I can never see me going back to Shimano or CampagnoloSummer - Giant Defy Composite 2 (Force 22) (retd)
Cannondale Synapse Sram Red ETap
Winter - Boardman CX Team (Rival X1 Hyd)0 -
The frameset of yours is still a good one, i would change out the sram for shimano 105 or ultegra and maybe get a good set of wheels. You would then have a very good bike.
This would be less costly than changing bikes?
I will let you do the math.0 -

My dodgy maths was price difference ~ 1K
Though ~£500 for full ultegra - £200 for better wheels which means for £300 you get the stiffer front end, tweaked geometry (2013) with higher modulus carbon and a better finishing kit all round (plus fancy extras like built in cadence, hidden cables etc)0
