hoping someone will be able to help me
i have a ceepo venom frameset
it is currently fitted with a sram gxp bb
i also have an ultegra 6700 crankset i would like to fit
and a spare dura ace 7800 bb
soo.. what bb do i need to fit the ultegra crank?
how do i know what bb the frame will accept
are there some general rules someone could explain to me so i understand this....
can any frame accept any bb?
and how do you know what crank accepts what bb?
many thanks!!

The Ultegra crank will fit the DA BB. Assuming they are like for like on shell width (both 68mm road shells or suitable without spacers) AND the GXP was not for a carbon crank (6mm bearings not 7mm), then the DA will replace the GXP BB easily enough. Oh, assuming both are same thread, English or Italian.0

thanks for the reply. we bit confusing....
the dura ace bb goes with the ultegra crank,
so to fit the ultegra crank i need to remove the sram gxp bb
and fit the dura ace one
assuming what are both same thread bb and crank orr bb and frame?
can the frame be english or italian thread? or do you mean the bb and crank have to be the same thread?
any idea what tools i will need to buy? the cups look as if they would take the same tool they look similar...?

do i need one of either of these?

Don't know about those tools specifically but you need a tool to remove the GXP BB and one to fit the new BB (may be the same - do they look the same?). The stuff about threads (English or Italian) refers to the way the frame has been threaded i.e. how the grooves were cut into the frame where you screw the BB in. The 68mm refers to the width of the frame where you screw in the BB. The BB is also threaded to screw into the frame and the threads need to match - i.e. English thread frame need english thread BB. Hope this helps a bit and sorry don't know what tooks you need for those BBs but a bit of googling should get you there - or someone who knows may be along anytime ....0
