OK looking to get some new tyres for my bike and was wondering what the difference is between dual ply and folding (I'm guessing wired means they are wire re-enforced?)

cheers

dual ply or single ply... dual is tougher but heavier

wired or folding... yes that's the bead - I'd always get folding as they are lighter... and folding tyres will almost always come in better quality rubber compounds for better grip

Not sure about 'almost always' often perhaps is better.

Dual ply is serious downhill work only, much tougher but much heavier as well, neither of your bikes wants a 2-ply.
