Snapped a Spoke - What's to do?

Morning All,

Set off on Saturday and instantly heard/felt a bang, thought I'd just ridden over a pebble so carried on. 100m later and I can hear/see the rear wheel wobbling all over the place, I get off and notice one of the spokes has snapped off from the hub....bugger, at least it was the shortest walk home!

So what's the best practice, replace one broken spoke or replace them all. The bike a few years old but has covered less than 200 miles, if that's of any importance?

Cheers

if its the first time that it has happened just replace the one that is broken, if it happens again replace them all as they are all probably getting fatigued.

Good job you weren't too far.... I broke a spoke 2 miles outside Buxton and 40 miles from home on Saturday and my wheel wasn't safe to ride any further. Luckily a local bike shop in Buxton kindly sorted me out so I could get home.

As long as the spoke is replaced properly and all the other spokes tensioned correctly it should be OK, especially as you say the wheels have only had 200 miles use.
