Which brake calipers are compatible with Dura Ace 7800 shifters? (Other than 7800 calipers of course :D)

pretty much anything will work, the next generation 7900 etc has a different cable pull amount but they'll all work fine

Is the cable pull difference nothing to worry about? I won't be going for 7900 but was looking at older Dura Ace and Ultegra calipers on the bay of dreams

will be fine - I run a MTB V brake lever with a road front brake with no issues and they are not supposed to work together

    7700 will work fine.

When I bought my Genesis Equilibrium I upgraded the calipers to these (which I was told at the time were rougly equivalent to Ultegra). I've been really pleased with them so was thinking of getting a pair for this build but am not sure if they are compatible with the 7800 shifters and also not sure if they are specifically for bikes with a large drop (i.e. to clear mudguards) as they will be going on a Scott CR1 (hype bike 2013!)

V- brake lever and road bike caliper work buts is far from optimim. yo end up with a hard lever and require a heroic effort to generate enogh braking force to stop the bike quickly. Yes you can stop the bike but the brake will work properly and effectively with the correct lever. Change to the correct lever please yo will neeed it one day and do not give advise that this combination is recomended or advised, it is not!

if you need long reach calipers, there's only a couple of modern ones that shimano do that fit the bill:

BR-R600, BR-R450. There may be some older models available too, but those are the currently available ones

Hi, as it happens I use the exact same combo on my custom build Genesis Equilibrium.
    7800 sti
    Br-650 long drop brakes
(also running 7800 fron mech, ultegra 6700 everything else).
    It all works beautifully well.

Br-650 will not be suitable for the Scott cr1.
You need regular brake calipers for the cr1.

Is that because the drop is much larger on the equilibrium to allow for mudguards whereas the CR1 drop is smaller? Would appreciate any suggestions of alternatives of 'regular' calipers!

yes, that's right - normal clearance on the CR1 versus mudguard compatible equilibrium.

any current shimano sora/tiagra/105/ultegra caliper will be fine

    older 5600 105, 6600 ultegra fine too
