Hi,
I am trying to convert an old Rockhopper to a single speed. The only wheels i have are from a bike with disk brakes, can I use these wheels?

What are you trying to do?
If you're intending to run rim brakes they need to have a braking surface0 -
some disc wheels are disk only, others have a braking surface on the rim, what rims are they?0

Ah, I get it now, it's a real old rockhopper frame with no disc brake bosses, I have one of them. Make sure the rims are designs for rim brakes.Bird Aeris. DMR Trailstar. Spesh Rockhopper pub bike.0

How can I tell if the rims "have a braking surface"?0

They say Rodi Alloy 6063 559x190

Look at them - it will be fairly obvious. Or post a pic.I don't do smileys.
