I have entered the Ard rock enduro in Swaledale next month and am thinking of getting a better and more beefier front tyre. I have narrowed my choice down to either a conti mountain king mkII protection black chilli 2.4 or a schwalbe hans Dampf trailstar 2.3 . The only thing aout the schwalbe is the size apparently they blow up to more like a 2.5 .
Any opinions about these two tyres would be helpful.

Thanks

I had HD's but they felt massive, with a slightly higher psi they didn't drag too much but didn't grip as well as they should, with lower psi they had great great but my legs were burning more than ever after a long ride. I have never used MK's.

What about an Ardent or even a Beaver if the going is tough?
