Does anyone know a repair for a loose pedal thread insert on carbon cranks please? I was fiddling with the bike tonight before going out and realised the pedal was wobbly. Under closer inspection it looks as though the threaded insert is loose. Help!

It will need to be rebonded. You will have to press the insert out somehow and se expoy to rebond it. Not to sure it will work out well though. Generally no shop will undertake this job so it is one you will have to do yourself. You could the folk who repair carbon frames at they bond carbon bit on a daily basis and know more than me.

I'd talk to your dealer - this is a common problem with FSA made Cannondale cranks.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Thanks Monty, but this bike is a few years old. Any recommendatiosn otherwise?

In the meantime, being slightly OCD I had a spare set of the exact cranks in the shed I had bought off a forum member last year...

I'd speak to one of the carbon repair companies too if the insert is captive - you could drill two holes on the circumference of the insert and bond in a locating pin.

Yes, that look s like the ones and the bike would about that age, maybe a 2008. Maybe an email to Cannondale...
