Hi
Any one know of campsites near bourg saint Maurice, tignes or val disere?
Google is coming up with 2 in bourg.
None in surrounding areas.
Driving camper down and planning to do some cols.
Wondering weather to just go and hope to find one or to try and pre book.
What do people think? Will be 6th July to 20th so could be quite busy!
Cheers

Is the TdeF anywhere about? Otherwise first week sites will be empty, even the second week you should be fine. Regardless in a Campervan you are fine just parking up on an Aire/village green etc etc, many villages have free provision for campers with public ablutions etc.0

I camped in a small site just on the uphill edge of Val d'Isere, on the right immediately before the river bridge.
Get the phone number from google maps if you want to book.0 -
I was in bourg last summer though stayed at Chillchalet. That campsite looked great and perfectly placed'not least 5 min from a fantastic outdoor swimming pool. Great riding out from bourg, the Comte due Roseland being a favourite.0

I have stayed here twice and its a great campsite. Ideal location for all the major climbs and as Bobinki has said, its also handily located for the supermarket and bike shop. Its a nice walk into town along the river from the campsite (about 10-15 mins) where I discovered a great pizza shop (I'll try and get its name for you).
We were camping and on both ocasions have just turned up during the first week of july and had no prolem getting a pitch although last time it was busier and we didnt have much tree cover/shade and the temps were about 30c!!0
