Clunking on rollers - Wheel bearings shot?

Just been tidying the shed and have managed to create some floor space to use my rollers for the first time in ages. Put the bike on them and had a quick spin but an annoying clunk occurred that sped up and slowed down as the wheels did. Had a quick look over the rollers and couldn't find anything obviously wrong with them so then tried another bike which was also ok, so I'm guessing bike number 1 needs some new wheel bearings? Unless I'm missing something else obvious?

Perhaps adjusting the bearings is enough. Or was there something near the roll, which disappeared when you changed the bike?

Just been and tried the bike again and the noise is still persisting, so definitely come from the bike rather than an item on the floor. It's a powertap hub with cartridge bearings so not possible to adjust, annoyingly I suspect it may have to be sent off for a service...
