Hi guys n gals

Not sure if I should post this in beginners section or not...

I have a Boardman Comp Road Bike, and need to replace the chain, and got a new cassette too.

Just wanted to check before I start that the Shimano HG50-9 cassette will work with a SRAM PC971 chain - I'm pretty sure the last time I replaced the chain I used this one on the Shimano cassette that the bike came with.
Previously I'd have just taken it somewhere to be done properly, but thinking I really do need to learn how to do these things myself.

Thanks

    yes, fine

(use the old chain to size the new chain if the cassette has the same ratios)
